Dr. Melody is also a practicing student birth and labour doula!

A birth doula, also known as a birth companion, birth coach, or birth supporter helps families before, during, and after the birth of their baby (or babies!). Every woman and family's needs are different, so services are unique to each situation.

The goal is to ensure that you are empowered about your birthing process. You receive physical, emotional, and informational support. Studies show that having a doula led to more spontaneous vaginal births and less likely to have any pain medication, epidurals, negative feelings about childbirth, vacuum or forceps-assisted births and Cesareans (Caton, Corry et al., 2002).

Services include: 

-Initial Consultation 

-Two prenatal visits

-Attendance and support at your birth and up to 2 hours after after

-Completion and assistance with writing your birth plan

-Unlimited contact and support through phone and email 

-One postpartum visit
